The Dinner Race

A 30 minute reality show where three celebrities are each paired up with a chef (either professional or stay-at-home mom/dad) and given one hour to prepare a meal that is both nutritious and one that kids will like. But in a twist that’s sure to appeal to kids of all ages: it’s the kids who are in charge!

The judges will be made up of 3 kids, aged between 7-12. They will decide the theme to each episode and vote on the winner at the end of the show. The judges will also, at some point in the hour, throw the chef teams an obstacle - a “KidBump”- inspired by the sort of everyday things all parents encounter. These will range from having to complete grade 2 math homework to changing a diaper! The chefs will have to adjust their cooking accordingly and will not be allowed to return to their meal stations until the task is complete. Unless...

At the beginning of each episode, certain ingredients will be listed on the “Disgusting Board.” These will include such unsurprising things as mushrooms, broccoli, tuna and olives. If the chef contestant is unable to perform the KidBump, they have the option to instead incorporate one of these “disgusting” ingredients into their dish.

When the hour is up, the kid judges will have their say and the celebrity/chef team with the best dish wins $10,000 for their chosen charity!
